Principle 2: Justice, Not Checkboxes: What Real Equality Looks Like

Everyone says they believe in equality, but look closer, and you’ll find loopholes everywhere.
A kid born in the wrong zip code still has a worse school, fewer job options, and worse healthcare. A woman doing the same job as a man still earns less. And the more we rely on gatekeeping, the more we divide ourselves into boxes.
This principle is about real opportunity, not performative politics.
Here’s how we fix it:
Universal access to education, from pre-K through college — regardless of income.
National minimum standards for schools and healthcare, so opportunity isn’t based on geography.
Stop the gatekeeping. Race, wealth, zip code, or immigration status should never determine whether you succeed.
Protect people, not just borders. A humane, secure immigration system is possible if we care enough to build it.
As a father, I don’t want my kids, or yours, growing up in a country where fairness is a slogan instead of a standard.
Equality isn’t about giving people an advantage. It’s about removing the systems that are designed to hold them back.
