Serve People, Not Profits

Every year, we pour $850 billion into defense while over 650,000 Americans go unhoused and basic services are underfunded.
Meanwhile, no-bid contracts, fossil fuel subsidies, and billionaire tax breaks waste hundreds of billions more.

It’s time for a budget that puts people first.

Sign this petition to demand Congress pass the People’s Budget Act and start funding what matters: housing, healthcare, mental health, schools, and jobs.

What is the People's Budget Act?

The People’s Budget Act is a bold framework to reclaim the public dollar and redirect it to real human needs.

It will:

  • 🪓 Cut Wasteful Spending
Slash 10% of defense spending and eliminate fossil fuel subsidies, redirecting $150+ billion per year.

  • 🏥 Invest in People
Fund affordable housing, universal mental health care, job training, public transportation, and school infrastructure.

  • 🧾 Create a Public Dashboard
Let every taxpayer track where their money goes, in plain English, not bureaucratic codes.

  • 🕵️ Launch a Waste Watchdog Office
Monitor and eliminate duplicate contracts, inflated deals, and corrupt spending.

  • 🗳️ Empower the People
Introduce participatory budgeting every 4 years to let citizens vote on top spending priorities.

This is not just a budget reform, it’s how we take back control from corruption and make the system work for people again.

Note: The People’s Budget Act is the first step in a broader movement to reform how public dollars are spent.
Other proposals, like the Clean Hands Act (to ban insider trading) and Transparency First (to end dark money), are in development.
